Brigade and TNT - Back To Basics.

Brigade has produced a training film in collaboration with TNT to take drivers back to basics.

Reversing cameras have vastly improved driving safety, saving countless lives and reducing accidents. Despite this, operators have reported an increase in nearside damage caused by reversing vehicles. The underlying problem being that drivers are becoming reliant on new technologies such as reversing cameras and neglecting normal driving practices such as using mirrors to check for obstacles to the nearside.

The training film explains the benefits of camera systems as driver aids, while enforcing the importance of basic reversing safety via a ten point guide.

The training film shows a TNT driver during a normal delivery, with advice for best practice when driving a vehicle that needs to reverse and tips for using Brigade’s reversing camera system. It is an excellent addition to health and safety inductions, with the visual aspect making the message clearer than the usual routine literature.

TNT’s Operations Training - Team Leader, Dave Copping says: “The guide will further enhance the practical training already given to TNT’s drivers ensuring that they use the camera as an aid and not a replacement for the vehicles mirrors”
