‘Bus usage is currently at its highest level since 1968’
A rise in the demand for passenger vehicles has brought new challenges in safety and security. Large vehicles require skill and concentration to drive, but added to this, distractions from passengers and frequent stops put additional pressures on those driving buses and coaches. Double decker buses currently carry approximately 70 passengers but new vehicle design means that capacity is increasing.
