Shaun Winstanley, Head of Transport Services at A-Plant said: “The safety of operators is of paramount importance, plus the cost of a camera system pales into insignificance when compared to the total running cost of the vehicle over its lifetime. We chose Brigade systems due to the reliability of the product.”

  • Cemex
    Cemex

During his presentation at a recent FTA Seminar, Paul Clarke, Logistics Fleet Engineering Manager at Cemex said “Between 2000 and 2004 vehicles operating on our behalf were involved in 6 road traffic accidents involving cyclists on the nearside, 2 of which sadly resulted in fatalities, however since fitting the Brigade Sidescan Systems as part of a wider programme of road safety initiatives we have not experienced any blameworthy road traffic incidents involving cyclists on the nearside.”

  • Dundee City Council

Steward Dodd, Workshop team leader at Dundee City Council said: “We fit bbs-tek to everything, from vans to 32 tonne hook loaders. The alarms are good for vehicles going out early in the morning, especially refuse vehicles, the last thing people want to hear at that time of the day is tonal beeping alarms. The localised sound at the back of the vehicle alerts workers and pedestrians, without waking up residents.”

At the John Connell Award ceremony 2008 at the Houses of Parliament, Celia Barlow, Labour MP for Hove and Portslade praised broad band sound reversing alarms in her opening speech: “Too often the constant noise that we are barraged with on a daily basis is defended along the lines of safety. Nobody would deny that it is important that we provide an environment whereby those with limited sight or awareness are warned of any potential hazards. However, it is also important that we provide a system of safety that is both beneficial and unobtrusive in our daily lives.

  • Hydrex
    Hydrex

Vincent Scott-Halton, Hydrex Group Marketing Manager said: “We have found Brigade to be very helpful. The key thing with Brigade is that if something was damaged we were able to replace the precise bit, rather than the whole unit. The coloured lights on the panel combined with the audible warnings are becoming a necessary safety feature to have.”

  • Keltbray
    Keltbray

Adrian Scott, Keltbray’s Operations Director said: “Since Sidescan has been fitted by Brigade, we are confident that we are achieving a very high standard of health and safety on public highways both for Keltbray and other road users. Sidescan is a superb system and hopefully it will be taken up by a lot more haulage companies.”

  • Tesco

Fleet Engineer at Tesco, Duncan Vavangas said: “We are very pleased with the performance of Brigade’s Backscan which enables home delivery drivers to reverse into tight spaces. This ensures the safety of pedestrians and property, thus reducing damage to the vehicle.”

Thermal Imaging Camera

Infrared thermal imaging camera

The Brigade Electronics Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera systems enable drivers to see objects by detecting differences in temperature, improving visibility and reaction times and therefore reducing the risk of accidents, particularly in the dark or in harsh weather conditions.

Thermal Image Camera is used in a variety of industries, we're all well aware of spies and the armed forces using them in action, but in relation to vehicle safety these cameras are used to help drivers to see things that would otherwise remain hidden.

In the winter season for example, fog is a dangerous hazard that everyone faces. Eliminate some dangers by using one of Brigades' Thermal Imaging Cameras which allows you to see clearly through the fog by identifying heat sources from other road users or pedestrians, allowing you to identify the hazards around you and arrive safely at your destination.
